Level I - Beginning Filipino

Ideal for students with very basic knowledge of Filipino, this program accelerates vocabulary-building and builds listening comprehension through story read-alouds and written activities. An excellent preparation for those about to start Filipino subjects in school. For ages 4-7.

  • Enables students to read and understand Filipino words
  • Enhances beginners' confidence in learning Filipino
  • Includes direct teaching by a Reading Coach
  • Students borrow Filipino books after every session

1 hour per session, 2 sessions per week (8 sessions per month)

Level II - Filipino Communication Skills Workshop

A Filipino enrichment workshop that builds fundamental oral, written and comprehension skills and encourages love of Philippine culture. Ideal for students for whom Filipino is a second language. Recommended for ages 7 to 16.

  • Helps children build a solid foundation for learning the Filipino language through interactive activities, writing and storytelling
  • Includes facilitation by a Reading Coach
  • Students are entitled to borrow as many as 3 books at a time

1-hour workshop and 1 hour direct teaching per week (8 sessions per month)

Level III - Reading Comprehension (Filipino)

This program provides guidance in building vocabulary and comprehending text. Creates an enjoyable and meaningful approach to reading and understanding classic literature such as Ibong Adarna, Florante at Laura, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. For ages 7 to 16.

  • Helps children with comprehension difficulties through vocabulary enrichment and comprehension techniques
  • Includes direct teaching by a Reading Coach
  • Students are entitled to borrow Filipino books

1 hour per session, 2 sessions per week (8 sessions per month)

Level IV - Writing in Filipino

This program enhances composition skills in Filipino, through lectures and exercises in grammar, spelling, cohesion and style. For ages 12 to 17.

  • Builds formal and creative composition skills
  • Includes direct teaching by a Reading Coach
  • Students are entitled to borrow Filipino books

1 hour per session, 2 sessions per week (8 sessions per month)
