Help young children fall in love with math! This fun workshop reinforces mathematical thinking through visual and tactile projects about number patterns, place value, composing numbers, and fractions.

Program Description

This month-long workshop includes 8 one-hour online sessions and visual / tactile projects to do after class.

Skills to be developed include --

Maximum of 10 students per class. Students are admitted only after parent / student interviews.

Goals

  1. Enhance conceptual understanding through use of the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract Approach and other mathematical tools
  2. Apply concepts and skills learned in real world context
  3. Communicate their reasoning and connection through various mathematical tasks and activities
  4. Build confidence and foster interest in mathematics

Michelle Enriquez

Licensed Singapore Math Trainer and holds a Masters in Teaching in the Early Grades from the University of the Philippines – Diliman. Teacher Mitch enjoys arts and crafts, storytelling, and teaching! She comes from a family of educators and has been teaching for over 20 years. She values the importance of the 4 C’s in education: Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity, and Communication.
