READING SAFARI is a 3-month program for children age 4-6 who are getting ready to read. Online classes and take-home activities develop knowledge of the alphabet, phonics and whole word methods of word recognition while promoting a genuine love for reading.

November 29 - December 21, Wednesdays and Fridays, 11:00-11:45 AM

January 4-30, Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-4:45 PM

Levels

Our reading enrichment workshop called READING SAFARI is a class for children age 4-6 who are getting ready to read. Classes are held 2x a week, for 45 minutes each. For practice on other days of the week, a learning kit with worksheets and other materials is sent to each student.

Levels 1-3

Students will learn complete letter names and sounds and be exposed to engaging children's books

Levels 4-5

Students will be taught Beginning Consonant Blends, Digraphs, and Sight Words (Set A) and be exposed to engaging children's books

Levels 6-8

Students will learn End Consonant Blends, Long Vowel Sounds, Controlled Vowels, Double Vowels, and Sight Words (Set B) and practice reading books

How much are your fees?

Monthly fee is only Php 2,500, inclusive of learning materials. Classes are held 2x a week, for 45 minutes each. For practice on other days of the week, a learning kit with worksheets and other materials is sent to each student.

How many sessions?

The online classes last 45 minutes and are held twice a week. On other days of the week, the teacher assigns asynchronous activities such reading a book, accomplishing worksheets and other activities in the Learning Kit.

How many students per class?

An average class size is 4 to 6 students. This allows socialization among peers which facilitates learning.

What is the assessment for?

The 45-minute teacher-administered test determines the child's skills (including mastery of letters & letter sounds, ability to read sight words, and reading comprehension) and helps us place him or her in the right level of the program. Parents receive an assessment report.

What are the available schedules?

We will provide you with proposed schedule after your child's assessment. Morning and afternoon sessions are available.

How many months is the program? How quickly are they expected to learn how to read?

Our READING SAFARI workshop teaches letter names and sounds to prepare children for beginning reading. It is a 3-month program; monthly fee is paid before the start of the month.

What is the difference between Reading Safari, The Reading Advantage and English Edge?

Reading Safari and The Reading Advantage are for students learning how to read (RS- phonemes, letters, letter sounds; TRA - blending of sounds and sight words) strengthening their reading skills (preschool to grade 1) while English Edge is for older students (grade school to high school students) who can benefit from reading comprehension, grammar, and writing activities.

What is the process for enrolment?

Sign up for an online reading and writing / Filipino language assessment.
To the proposed class schedule (given after the assessment), agree or request a new one.
Deposit the appropriate fee to our bank account and send us a screenshot of the payment confirmation.
Wait for our e-mail with class links.
